HI THERE

Priya Patel is an artist and actor. She has a formal and multifaceted background in visual art and design, with a degrees in fashion design from Parsons and Philosophy from the University of Pittsburgh. She enjoys making ceramics and up-cycling clothing. Her writing focuses on short memoir and essays.

As an actor, she cut her teeth in New York where she was featured in content for NBC, ABC, MTV, Funny or Die, and Glamour, as well as network commercials. She’s also acted in both plays and independent shorts produced in New York City, including My House, Carl and Everything is Okay, official selections for the Dances with Film and SXSW respectively.

After studying advanced improvisation, and sketch writing at the Upright Citizens Brigade, Priya started creating videos for her YouTube channel and co-hosted Very Much Live!, a biweekly standup show at the East Village institution Niagara Bar. She produced and directed an anecdotal interview series, This Series is About Periods which was featured on Salon.com, and headlined at the Period Power Film Festival and Benefit hosted by WaterAid. Priya is a member of SAG-AFTRA.

Priya is also an astrologer. With over 20 years of experience, she uses her pragmatism and aptitude for reading the stars to bring perspective and peace to her community.
